Patagonian Indigenous Communities

Private or Semi-private lessons
Course length: 1 week

20 hours per week – 4 hours a day

mapucheThis program has been designed for intermediate and advanced Spanish students. It is based on learning the history, culture and fundamental traditions of the original Patagonia indigenous communities of Patagonia.

Using specialized bibliography, documentals and audiovisual materials as sources of information, students practise and improve their linguistic skills while they learn about the indigenous’ culture and traditions.

This special program is combined with educational excursions to experiment and see what students have learnt: trips to caves (old indigenas’ refuges), cave paiting sites, museums and visits to mapuche communities to taste traditional curanto (meat and vegetables cooked underground), and share some of their ancestral customs.

Minimum Spanish level required: Initial II
